Ok, so what's going on here in my neck of the woods? Well, lots, frankly.

Two shows this weekend - check out the gig schedule. Hope to have my voice left Monday! May is already scheduled too!

Also - CD News. The CD is done. The artwork is being done. We are aiming to get these into production by Wednesday and have them in hand for this weekend's gigs. Either way, I will also have copies of the two song demo in hand, which will also be available. So, the end is nigh!!

I really think it sounds great, and I am my biggest critic. The more I listen to, the more I like. It's raw, stripped and totally acoustic, which is how I like it to be.

All the latest from the land of Burns - The End Is In Sight

Hey all,

Well, another week draws nearer to a close and I thought I better make good on my promise via e-mail to put up new blog and news updates. So here we are!

I know, I know. Many of you are going "He still doesn't have a CD?!" Well, you are only half correct on that.

So where am I? Well, all the recording is done and was done a few weeks ago. I reviewed a second mix of the CD last night and Chris once again worked his miracles. Only a few slight tweaks and the CD itself should be done here in a few days. At that time, I will put up some MP3s on the new-look mySpace page and you will have a chance to preview the disc.

My artist in Chicago is still working on laying out the photos for the CD liner/insert and case. I have been a complete pain to these guys (he and my producer) with my exacting ways, so I am very lucky to have them.

SO - the CD will be here before you know it. I should have stopped putting a timeline on these things a long time ago, because all I do is keep moving it back! But, my real goal is to have it done, pressed and reproduced, and ready for sale by 4/28/06. It's a good goal to have, but you know me!

News: 3-28-06

CD NEWS!! IT'S ALMOST HERE!!!

Just popping on here with all the latest news from the land of Burns.

As you may recall, the recording phase of the CD was completed a few Sundays back. Currently, the tracks are being mixed and I will have a master to review by mid-next week. I am very nervous and excited to hear how it sounds!!!

This past weekend, we finished shooting photos for the CD. THANKS DAN AND JEN!! We got some really great shots that hopefully look as good to you all as they did to us. One of the excess shots is being used as my default mySpace photo in my profile.

I am in the process of writing the copy for the liner and working with my awesome producer/engineer to determine song order. My good buddy Chet III is working on the graphic design elements and he hopes to have a mock-up done later this week or early next for my review.

Upon completion and approval, I hope it will only take them a week or so to duplicate the CD.

So -- IT'S ALMOST DONE!!! Thank you for your patience and stay tuned!!

For those of you in Texas, it will be easier to get your hands on it, but for those not, I am looking into some online ordering options for you as well!!

News: 3-20-06

CD NEWS! GOOD NEWS!! THE RECORDING IS DONE!!!
Had a great session yesterday and finished up all the vocals. Even found time to put a guitar solo on one track.

Now, my miracle worker producer/engineer has but to mix it. Concurrently, I will be shooting some photos and getting the liner layout done. Should be no problem to have this done end of this month/early April!!

Additionally, my mySpace will become a "band" page here shortly, but should not affect your viewing or friend lists. This will allow me to host MP3's on the page and give you a preview of the CD!!

For those not in Texas, I am looking into various options for online ordering of the CD once it is complete. Stay tuned for more info!!

Hey all! Happy Valentine's Day!! Enjoy your holiday - either by yourself or with your sweetheart!! Just some quick news updates for you.

CD NEWS!!! - It's back on track!! Despite all efforts to the contrary by my body (i.e. my sinuses, allergies, etc.) to keep me from recording, I have conquered illness. My awesome producer/engineer continues to amaze me with his suggestions and arrangement skills, and we've done some excellent vocal work thus far!!

We got two full songs recorded vocally, and the start of a third song, which puts nearly halfway through it!! We will continue recording the vocals hopefully this weekend and will keep the process on track!! This thing will be available by the end of March! (unless I change something again!)

Also, keep your eye on the upcoming shows list. I've scheduled regular shows all the way through March! And be sure to join me on 3/17 for a special holiday show!!

Hey all! Glad to be back in 2006!! Just some quick news updates for you.

CD NEWS!!! - I know, you are getting sick of there not being a CD. Well, fret not. My awesome producer/engineer is a real pro at this and in two sessions we got all the guitar parts down!!

Now, if I can just get 100 percent healthy, we will start recording the vocals and this thing WILL be done by March!! Look for the first CD from yours truly in Spring!!!!

Wow! It's been a while, I know. With all my e-mailing and such, I have not had much news to post.

So, what's going on, you ask? Not much and too much! December has been a very busy month, but I am looking forward to starting back on the recording in January.

A buddy of mine is going to help with this demo. Be sure to check his band out - Just Cause - if you are looking to see a great show. I'll be seeing them in early January at the Firewater and I can't wait!

I am also in the process of writing new tunes as we speak. Ideally, I would like to have a full hour of originals for upcoming shows. This would give me the opportunity to play all-original openers for other bands, which I look forward to doing in the near future.

Hey all! Haven't given any updates in some time, so I need to catch you up on things.

I have gone back to the drawing board on this CD. The studio I was working at relocated, so that prompted me to explore other avenues. I am writing new material all the time and making determinations regarding what's ready for public consumption.

Hey all! I am trying to catch up on my updating duties, so here we find ourselves

I just got the site switched over to new hosting and have gone through some brief tutoring on how to update it! So I now can update it and add photos and such! There are a bunch of new photos and updates throughout the site, so look around!

I am heading back in studio this week to cut vocal tracks so I plan to have the CD ready by August. I know, I've been saying this for months, but hey, you can't rush art! Stay tuned for CD updates

EP/DEMO News:
Many of you have been asking when you'll be able to own your own Kevin CD! (Thanks, by the way!) Well, there's news on this front. Although I will continue to shop studios, for right now I am getting together with a buddy and he is going to cut my demo in his home studio. This will be just me and the guitar, as you are used to hearing. When I do the full EP, I will most likely have full instrumentation on it, so that will be cool later in the year.

It's looking like a six-song EP right now, so you may have something for your CD players very soon. I write new material regularly and I look forward to getting back to it here in a bit.

As I said before, I don't believe I'll be adding any covers to the EP for legal reasons. But, if there is one you'd really like to hear, feel free to e-mail me your favorite cover and depending on the response, I'll let you guys dictate which one I include.
