The equipment a musician uses are often as important as tools to a carpenter. This is not lost on me, however, my minimalist approach often strikes some “gearheads” as ignorant or odd. Quite the contrary. I feel my performances are a blend of sounds both human and electronic and the tools I employ need only be one layer of the overall mixture. My choices in gear are made out of necessity, sound, value, look and even emotion.
I've always felt you don't need a $3000 guitar and a $2000 amp to make great music. Some of the greatest, most legendary music was performed and recorded on a pawn shop guitar and an old amp someone found in the garbage.
